RE: Good Prices or not mobile suites and select suites

We have been looking a lot lately and the prices are way down there. The dealers are hurting and a lot cannot take delivery of '09's because they are overstocked. In an economy like now, you can almost make your own deal.

RE: Rear Wheels

Thanks. that does help a lot. Whenever you upgrade, it's like starting all over again. I will probably be back again with more questions. I appreciate your help.

Rear Wheels

DH and I currently own a TT but will be retiring in about 6 mos. and will be upgrading to a Fifth Wheel to go fulltime. We have decided to upgrade our TV first and want to do it soon with prices being so great right now. I have a question. In looking at the larger of the deisel vehicles, I notice that some have double wheels on the rear and others are singles. Does that make a difference in how it tows?

RE: trailer towing with Hemi

What is your rear axle gear ratio? We tow a 30 foot trailer with our 1500, however, we have the Mega Cab which sits on the 2500 frame. We also have the full tow package and the rear axle ratio is 4.10. We have a weight distribution hitch and a sway bar.

RE: Wall Decorations

I have used the 3M velcro tabs and have had great luck. When we traded in our old trailer, they all came off smoothly. We store our trailer and we are in Florida and I have not had anything fall off in the past year.

RE: Experience With Kodiak Trailers

There is still a forum for the Kodiaks, Find that and you should get all the info you are looking for. I am a past owner and I will not go into it too deeply. I had a leaky slide that the seals were installed incorrectly, caused it to leak and ruin my flooring. Thor would not back the product or their dealer. As you can see from my signature do not own one now.

RE: Aerolite Seven 23rb questions

There was an Ă…erolite/Kodiak forum on the web but it is getting ready to close down shortly. Perhaps, if you hurry, you can still get some answers there.

RE: Running from a hurricane with the 5er

Here in FL when we had to evacuate, it was a little smoother because we left in plenty of time. We took our trailer and it was a Godsend. We do park our trailer north of our area with the hurricanes in mind. The other thing about it not being near your home is that if your home gets hit maybe the trailer won't or vice versa.

RE: Insulating Skylights

I use those 12X12 insulated cushions in each of my skylights. They sell them at Camping World for under $10 each. They work great. For the large skylight in the shower I got one of those thick aluminum door window covers at CW. It fits just right. I use Velcro to hold it on and it is easily removed when I want the light to come in.

RE: Problem with swaying

Do you have a tow package? What is the rear axle gear ratio? Make sure that everything is loaded in front of the axles. If your tongue weight is low, you have to put weight up front. We carry our firewood in the front pass through compartment and it made a lot of difference. Of course, we have good weight distribution hitch, sway bar and tow package.......

RE: time to buy?

We went in to our dealer for servicing last Friday and it was pretty quiet there. The secretary was telling us that business is dead. Everyone of their employees is working a 4 day week so they don't have to layoff. I bet if you were interested in a deal, you could find some good ones. I know we bought ours last August and got a deal too good to be true. If you are a wheeler and dealer this is the time for you!

RE: Aerolite, Jayco, Kodiak owners. Bent Norco frames, read this

I think I would start thinking about trading it in on a different make. Sales are really down now so the dealers might be generous on their trades.

RE: Advice on new trailer Aerolite 30BH-SL

Remember, it is one of the cheapest trailers, therefore, you get what you pay for. But, there is an Aerolite/Kodiak forum where you can get all the answers you need to make an informed decision

RE: bad axles?

If it is a new trailer and still under warranty, I would take it back to the dealer and have him look at it. Tires wearing out ahead of time is one of the signs. Is it uneven wear?

RE: Pet friendly CG question

Anytime we have asked the Rangers, they always say that you cannot leave them outside unattended.

RE: Pet friendly CG question

Most National and State allow you to leave them in the camper. We also leave a radio on while we are gone so it covers the outside noise. If the dogs hear noise outside,it will start the barking.

RE: Really looking for TT and advise

I towed with a 2002 Dakota with 3.92. Guess what I burned out the transmission on the first small mountain we climbed. You are talking about 28' and 29' trailers. I don't think the Dakota is long enough for that much trailer. We had a 25 foot Kodiak that we towed with our 2006 Dodge RAm 1500 and it was just right. When we wanted a longer trailer we moved up to the Mega Cab which has the frame of the 2500. You have to have the longer wheelbase to handle the length.

RE: toilet in travel trailer

If you camped at a campground with full hookups and left the dump valve open. you will get odors from the outside dump tank. I close our dump valve and only open every other day to dump and use the blue stuff. Never have any odors.
